Greg Molloy

Greg Molloy is an Irish born artist based on Whadjuk Noongar land in Boorloo WA, who completed a BA in Fine Art at Curtin University in 2019.

A recent graduate, Molloy has exhibited regularly in solo and group shows around the metro area such as Goolugatup Heathcote cultural precinct, Cool Change Contemporary and Victoria Park Arts Centre.

His achievements include the City of South Perth emerging artist award (2019) and the Artsource supported spring mentorship program with Curator Sandra Murray (2020).

This large, part-interactive, kinetic, quadrupedal sculpture belongs to an ongoing series of sculptures called Beasts which are a hybridisation of all the skills in Molloy’s practice. Industrial furniture fabrication, stop motion puppet armatures,
anatomy studies and musical instruments making are combined in this piece. Each work in the Beast series is a kinetic sonic sculpture that produces its own sound from
within its body, unique to the shape and instruments inside.
