Artist Profile

Steve Tepper

Steve Tepper is an artist, designer and maker with a varied background who has exhibited both nationally and internationally.

In the three decades since graduating from Curtin University, Tepper’s art practice has found new trajectories in scale and purpose through many public art commissions.

His enviable portfolio includes artworks that are low-relief patterns integrated within building facades, through to large abstract three-dimensional sculptures, as well as smaller works that are interpretive pieces.

While Tepper’s work is engaging and versatile, the different inflections always remain at the service of an unswerving set of themes related to context, place and nature.

FEATURED WORK

Tidal shift

2021 – 2022

MATERIALS: PAINTED STEEL

SIZE: 180 X 200 X 10 CM EACH SECTION

Price: $19,800.00

The impetus for this sculpture is the idea of a circular pathway and the repetition it creates. Each section and shift – an echo of the other – is a circular narrative that cycles through the journey of life, one event at a time, to end back where the story originated, providing closure through a return.
