Anne Neil
Since completing Post Graduate Studies in 1992, in sculpture at the School of Art ANU in Canberra, Anne Neil’s art practice has found new trajectories in scale and purpose. Her artworks run the stylistic gamut – engaging abstraction, realism and the ready-made – and explore a range of materials and concepts related to context, place and connection.

Anne Neil – Paper dreams
In 2024 during a period of introspection, the artist found solace in the silver branches seen through her bedroom window. Leaves dancing in the breeze reminded her of paper planes. For the artist, these represented feelings of weightlessness and freedom, of starting a new chapter and the opportunity of dreaming of better times.
