Jill Paynter-O’Meehan is a multidisciplinary artist currently focusing on Installation
and Textiles. Paynter-O’Meehan’s work is profoundly shaped by the natural
environment, colour theory and light play often experienced in those moments of
quiet contemplation within our in daily lives. Their practise traverses installation, textiles, painting, print, photography and ceramics, often mixing several processes within one artwork.

Jill Paynter-O’Meehan – Encrusted in jewels
Encrusted with jewels is inspired by the abundant growth of ocean plants and
organisms that often attach to coral reefs and jetties in shallow waters. By walking around and under the remains of the old jetty, the viewer is immersed within an environment that would normally require bathers and snorkel. On dry land we are able to spend the time to experience and enjoy the colour and details found in nature.
