Todd Israel is a fibre textiles artist and teacher. Israel’s work is more sculptural in form and is often influenced by the human figure and personal experiences. He works with reclaimed fabrics and plant material from the Western Australian landscape to create his artwork.

This work represents the information our minds can hold. Israel sees the mind like a large basket/vessel full of thoughts, memories, experiences, images, values, skills, knowledge etc. The large basket is growing organically from the top of the cobbled grass head. The viewer can imagine what Abundance of Knowledge is held inside this vessel.
