The ampersand (&) is an icon that simply means and. Once the 27th letter of the alphabet, its shape is considered anthropomorphic. It was this characteristic and the idea of ‘and’ implying more, that inspired this artwork. Several ampersand shapes have been brought together to create this whimsical sculpture that hints at the nature of sitting, contemplation and distraction.
