Crowns for the apocalypse. The future of our children and the environment is under threat and yet we do nothing. If we don’t change how we live, radically, then the future is bleak. Flavell uses recycled, found, gifted and second hand materials which seem ordinary but:

1. Have a holding power because of how or
when they come into a person’s life.
2. Are evocative / uncanny objects both
drawing and repelling.
3. Have properties that belong to childhood
where boundaries between self and objects
are blurred.
4. Have the power of provenance
(who touched or owned them).
