Inspired by the ancient site of Nyaung-gan in the Chindwin River Valley, where Bronze Age artefacts were first discovered, Seymour’s work reflects on Burma’s rich history, from its abundance of jade and teak forests to its linguistic and cultural legacies. Though not born there, the act of sculpting, painting, and designing has become a bridge—deepening the artist’s emotional and spiritual connection to Burma, threading personal narratives with themes of identity, memory, cultural continuity and political discourse.
