Seiver has been working with a Martu friend in the
Pilbara since 2019 on a personal contribution to the
larger picture of Reconciliation. This work is
inspired by traditional Mardu Papirri, traditionally
worn on the head of all people taking part in a
discussion where it becomes the container to hold
the weight of grief present in the words. It is an
enlarged version of many made together and
represents a willingness to sit on Country and
speak the truth in the spirit of reconciliation.
This work hangs above visitors’ heads so that all
might feel the weight, the need for, reconciliation.
